Literacy Science class students have been building Straw Towers and Towers on a single sheet of brown paper:
Using tape and no more than 60 straws, design a Tower that can span a gap of at least 15 cm and support a minimum of 2 tennis balls.
Use a single sheet of Brown Paper to build a Tower to demonstrate both height and strength – we want to witness your final product undergo a stress test.
Science Literacy – As students will be involved in conducting experiments during this project, all areas of this strand will be addressed. Students will question and predict, plan and conduct, process and analyse, and examine a range of design options. The final process is to conceptualise and communicate thereby building up their vocabulary and assisting them with their writing skills.
