Gateway Programme

The Gateway programme is designed to strengthen the pathway for Senior students to progress from school to the workplace or Tertiary study. It provides students with workplace learning, across a range of industries and businesses, while they continue to study at school.

Students are given the opportunity to test drive their career choices, while gaining real world experience which they can add to their CV. Gateway gives the students confidence to make smooth transition from school to work. The Gateway programme requires that students complete credits and gain work experience in their chosen field.

Year 11, 12 and 13 students can participate in the programme which happens over the term breaks throughout the year. There is a limited number of spaces so students who want the opportunity need to register in careers.

Some of the options available are Dominos, Auckland Airport, The warehouse, NZ Police, Play n Learn (early childhood education) McDonalds, Building and Construction Bunnings and Countdown to name a few. Students also have the opportunity to do their Learner Licence and Forklift Licence as part of the programme.
