Congratulations this week goes to Mahdi Hussaini In Year 12 for his extremely detailed, and finely carved Whakario board. Mahdi’s designs are an adaption of tradition Maori patterning. Equally impressive is the work of Ali Hussaini, Mahdi’s younger brother, who is in Year 11. Both accomplished carvers, competition to be the best is strong between the brothers, and each regards their brother as their biggest rival.
