How to Enrol

Otahuhu College continues to welcome in zone enrolment applications for 2025.

In Zone

Applications need to be received by the beginning of November each Year.

Out of Zone

Ōtāhuhu College Out of Zone Applications

Out of zone places are available to students who live outside the Ōtāhuhu College  zone and within the Auckland City boundaries, and who are not currently enrolled at Ōtāhuhu College.

Places are offered to applicants according to their priority group, and then according to their position on the waiting list generated by the ballot. Priority groups are prescribed by legislation and set out in our Enrolment Scheme

Applicants will be processed in the following order of priority:

• First priority: must be given to applicants who are siblings of current students.
• Second priority: must be given to applicants who are siblings of former students.
• Third priority: must be given to any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school.
• Fourth priority: must be given to any applicant who is either a child of an employee of the School Board or a child of a member of the School Board.
• Fifth priority: must be given to all other applicants.

Applicants will be required to provide evidence to support their inclusion in a priority group.

If there are more applicants than there are places available, we will use a ballot to randomly select students in the priority group to fill the places. Unsuccessful applicants will be ranked in their numerical order and put on a waiting list. Ballots are conducted under the supervision of a qualified solicitor.

Due to the large number of out of zone applications received and the limited number of places available, many applicants are unsuccessful in the ballot. It is important that you also apply to your local school for enrolment.

Applications should be submitted in Hard copy only.

Closing date for out of zone ballot will be at the end of September each Year.
