Model United Nations Assembly

On Friday and Saturday of last week four of our Year 12 and Year 13 students represented Ōtāhūhū College at the annual Model United Nations Assembly. Each year, schools from around Auckland get together and debate the world’s biggest issues, with each school pretending to be one of the United Nations countries. Our students were representing South Africa this year and debated the distribution of Covid 19 vaccinations and the world food programme. In total, 300 students from 47 schools represented 90 countries. Well done to Faimafili Tavita, Velyanah Tanielu, ‘Inoke Kaloni and Khalani Chan who represented our school, and South Africa, with pride.
