Winter season is upon us and we are still taking registration across some of our sports, so those students who have yet to register for a winter Sports team will need to do so before the end of next week. So Sports season have already begun and the rest will follow over the coming weeks 

Basketball  

Basketball is the first team to begin its season with games on Tuesday this week with 4 teams that played at the Bruce Pulman Arena on Tuesday.  

  • Junior girls Basketball beat Ormiston College 
  • U17 Boys won by default 
  • Senior Boys beat De La Salle College 
  • Senior Girls lost against Ormiston 

 On Thursday the Junior Boys basketball played their first match against Manurewa High School, and worked well to come away with a win. 

Rugby 

Rugby team have now been training for a few weeks and as we edge close to the season boys and girls will need to register to online to play. Students can register at home or at lunchtime in the Library ICT. 

Pre-season begins for our grade teams this weekend Saturday 8th May: 

2nd XV vs De La Salle at DLS 9.15am kickoff 

U15 vs De La Salle at DLS 9.30am Kickoff. 

A reminder that students must have a mouth guard and the school rugby shorts. The school rugby shorts can be purchased from NZ Uniform shop. 

1st XV Rugby 

1st XV have had its first pre-season game against Manurewa High School. This was an annual fixture for the Hogan Chapman Shield. After a long time to settle Otahuhu College were able to claim victory with a penalty that sealed victory 20-19 right on full time. 

This weekend the 1st XV will continue its pre-season build up with another away game against Mt Albert Grammar School who compete in the Auckland 1A competition.

Rugby League 

Otahuhu College will field a team in the College A competition this year in a revised format of the Rugby League competition.  Their season will begin on Wednesday 12th May with an away game at Lynfield College with kickoff at 4pm. 

Netball 

Netball begins their season on Saturday 8th May at the Auckland Netball Center in Glen Innes. Otahuhu College has teams competing in this weekly competition. 

Senior A vs Howick 10.50am ANC 4 

Year 10A vs AGGS 8.30am ANC 12 

Year 9A vs Marist Girls College 9.40am ANC 11 

Year 9B vs Pakuranga College 9.40am ANC 18 

  

Soccer 

Soccer will start on Wednesday May 12th. We have the following teams competing this year in the Counties Manukau Competition.
