STEM Fun – Biology Level 3, Dr Hardy’s class

Biology level 3 students are tracing orthokinesis and klinokinesis of slaters. They use time and distance to measure the speed of the slater and a cross is marked every time a slater takes a turn. The investigation was to determine the impact that different textured surfaces would have on their rate of movement and rate of turning. The greater objective was to analyze the challenges and assumptions scientists experience whilst investigating living organisms and their responses.
