Whakairo students have been part of the carving of a waka taua named Nga Hononga at Wero Whitewater Park in Manukau. Our students carved the tauihu Moko-ika-a-hiku-waru he kaitiaki o te waka Tainui. It was a humbling experience for our students to take part in this blessing along-side Tainui tohunga, kuia and koroua.
